Snapshots from Idaho

A couple weeks ago, I spend the week in Idaho. It was the most gorgeous, peaceful, and relaxing trip. Those mountains make me want to move out west so I can wake up to that view every day! The first half of the week we were in McCall, and the second half was spent in Sun Valley - one of my favorite ski resorts. We also got a little spontaneous and did a day trip to Jackson Hole (my absolute FAVORITE ski area). It was an incredible trip.

The drive from the airport into McCall was about 2 hours, but it was a scenic one!

The little cabin in the middle of nowhere Idaho - and it was the most peaceful, incredible spot.

That early sunrise view though.... Cannot be beat. Seriously may be the most gorgeous photo I've ever taken!

We spent an afternoon traveling to Burgdorf hot springs. The fun part of this adventure was that we had to get there by snowmobile. The road is unplowed in the winter, so it takes about an hour to get to the hot springs (going about 40 mph the entire time!).

The hot springs were so lovely and secluded. Loved the bare bones, non commercial feel of the place and the fact that there was barely anyone there.

This little cabin was about an hour and a half down an unplowed road - meaning no way to get there by car during the winter. Can you imagine having to plan a full day to go grocery shopping? Ha!

The drive into Sun Valley was so beautiful - plus check out those blue skies! It just can't be beat.

And we made it! Our little cabin was the perfect spot. It was cozy and had the perfect apres ski nook with a fire pit!

See what I'm talking about!? Perfection (although the addition of a hot tub would be pretty cool too).

2016 Wanderlust List

2016 goal: travel more, spend less on clothing. Sometimes having a full time job is really hard, because all I EVER want to do is travel - every single weekend. The great thing about NYC is that there are a ton of fun little weekend getaway trips you can do that are within a couple hours from the city. Transportation is another story, but there's usually a train or bus option if you don't own a car. Maybe I should do a post on that soon?!

If I could, I'd pack it up and just travel for a few months or even a year. Keep on dreaming, right?! Below are a few of my top spots I've been dying to hit. I'm a sucker for a great ski trip or anything having to do with mountains... Yep, I'm one of those weirdos that actually enjoys the cold. It must be the Buffalo in me. If I've missed anything or there is a must see place on your list, definitely leave me a comment! And speaking of traveling, I will be heading to Lake George for a little R&R for my birthday weekend this weekend. Follow me on Instagram for more on that!

Dunton Hot Springs

Cozy little cabins in the woods in the middle of Colorado with hot springs, hiking and more. Sounds like the most perfect place to relax right? There is nothing better to me than a relaxing getaway that is off the grid. This gorgeous little place would be perfect at any season.

Fairmont, Banff Springs & Lake Louise (Banff National Park)

Banff & Lake Louise are an easy trip to do together - they're only about 40 minutes apart! Both are just beyond gorgeous and are a must see. Actually, most of that area of Canada is just incredible. It's been on my list for quite a while, and I think this year may be the year to put this trip on the books!

Bondi Icebergs Club

If only for the Instagram shots, this one is a must. I'm sure you guys have seen it all over Pinterest, but Bondi Icebergs is just the most gorgeous pool I've ever seen. That and I'd love to visit Australia anyway, so might as well kill two birds with one stone.

Aescher/Ebenalp Mountain

Just because I like hiking, mountains, gorgeous views, and Switzerland of course. How could you not want to visit this place!? I visited Switzerland once years ago in my teens, and didn't spend nearly enough time there exploring, so I'm dying to go back.

Post Ranch Inn/Big Sur

I mean, who wouldn't want to stay in a tree house for a night or two? Or in a room on a cliff overlooking one of the best views on the west coast? I'd absolutely turn this into a road trip. I've been DYING to do one of the Big Sur area - hit Carmel, the gorgeous Post Ranch Inn, and land in San Fran to finish it off.

Norway

The motherland. But seriously. My whole mother's side is from Norway, and grandma came over on the boat when she was about 3 years old. This would be at least a week long trip as there are so many things you absolutely need to see there.  I'm dying to ride Norway's Bergen train line, which could possibly be the most beautiful train ride ever.  I need to get to this place - SOON.

Austin, TX

Can you guys believe I've never been to the great state of Texas? I mean, I've flown through it numerous times (does that count?!), but never landed there as a destination. I've heard the city of Austin is just awesome, plus, I'm a sucker for a good spa resort (and would love to visit Lake Austin Spa Resort while I'm there as well). I feel a girls trip coming up...
