2016 goal: travel more, spend less on clothing. Sometimes having a full time job is really hard, because all I EVER want to do is travel - every single weekend. The great thing about NYC is that there are a ton of fun little weekend getaway trips you can do that are within a couple hours from the city. Transportation is another story, but there's usually a train or bus option if you don't own a car. Maybe I should do a post on that soon?!
If I could, I'd pack it up and just travel for a few months or even a year. Keep on dreaming, right?! Below are a few of my top spots I've been dying to hit. I'm a sucker for a great ski trip or anything having to do with mountains... Yep, I'm one of those weirdos that actually enjoys the cold. It must be the Buffalo in me. If I've missed anything or there is a must see place on your list, definitely leave me a comment! And speaking of traveling, I will be heading to Lake George for a little R&R for my birthday weekend this weekend. Follow me on Instagram for more on that!
Cozy little cabins in the woods in the middle of Colorado with hot springs, hiking and more. Sounds like the most perfect place to relax right? There is nothing better to me than a relaxing getaway that is off the grid. This gorgeous little place would be perfect at any season.
Fairmont, Banff Springs & Lake Louise (Banff National Park)
Banff & Lake Louise are an easy trip to do together - they're only about 40 minutes apart! Both are just beyond gorgeous and are a must see. Actually, most of that area of Canada is just incredible. It's been on my list for quite a while, and I think this year may be the year to put this trip on the books!
If only for the Instagram shots, this one is a must. I'm sure you guys have seen it all over Pinterest, but Bondi Icebergs is just the most gorgeous pool I've ever seen. That and I'd love to visit Australia anyway, so might as well kill two birds with one stone.
Just because I like hiking, mountains, gorgeous views, and Switzerland of course. How could you not want to visit this place!? I visited Switzerland once years ago in my teens, and didn't spend nearly enough time there exploring, so I'm dying to go back.
I mean, who wouldn't want to stay in a tree house for a night or two? Or in a room on a cliff overlooking one of the best views on the west coast? I'd absolutely turn this into a road trip. I've been DYING to do one of the Big Sur area - hit Carmel, the gorgeous Post Ranch Inn, and land in San Fran to finish it off.
The motherland. But seriously. My whole mother's side is from Norway, and grandma came over on the boat when she was about 3 years old. This would be at least a week long trip as there are so many things you absolutely need to see there. I'm dying to ride Norway's Bergen train line, which could possibly be the most beautiful train ride ever. I need to get to this place - SOON.
Can you guys believe I've never been to the great state of Texas? I mean, I've flown through it numerous times (does that count?!), but never landed there as a destination. I've heard the city of Austin is just awesome, plus, I'm a sucker for a good spa resort (and would love to visit Lake Austin Spa Resort while I'm there as well). I feel a girls trip coming up...
