Last weekend, I had the pleasure of visiting the ladies of LIC:Living, an adorable little store in Long Island City, that offers a little bit of everything from clothing, to accessories, to home goods. They carry some of my favorite brands, such as Loren Hope, Michael Stars, Toms, James Jeans and many more. What sets them apart though, is their selection of Norwegian goods. Whether it's bags or clothing, they have quite a few brands from that area that I've never heard of but instantly fell in love with (see the sequined top above, and this cozy sweater). These bags by MOO are handmade in Norway, and the perfect size for just about any activity. They also carry candles, cards and a variety of small home goods (how cute is this throw?!). You just cannot go wrong here!

So, if you're in the LIC (Astoria) area, or even in NYC and feel like making the trek over, you won't be sorry. While you're there, you can also check out the waterfront park, with its incredible views of NYC, and even take the ferry back (a first for me!). I made a whole afternoon of it and had a total blast. If you're not located in the New York area, LIC:living does have an online shop, so make sure you check it out!

Fall Basics

Gap Cable Knit Sweater // Madewell Satchel // Tod's Driving Moccasin // Club Monaco Infinity Scarf // Babaton Silk Dress // J.Crew Field Jacket // Madewell Leather Mini Skirt // Marie Turnor Lunch Clutch // Club Monaco Over-The-Knee Boots // J.Crew Toothpick Jeans // Calypso St. Barth Fur Vest // Babaton Pants // Joie Booties // Anine Bing Leather Jacket // Cuyana Cape // Vince d'Orsay Pumps // Monrow V Tee // Equipment Blouse

If I was told to pick my top go-to basic pieces for fall, the list above would sum it up. Looking to invest in some good staples? These are the classic pieces that come back every year, no matter what, and would be a good starting point. A classic silk dress, moto boots, the fisherman sweater, a basic tee... I own a version of almost everything above, and wear these things frequently (if not too often) during the cooler months. Some good starting places I'd recommend would be Aritzia, Gap, Joie, Equipment, J.Crew, and Club Monaco.

Happy Weekend!

Transitioning Shorts to Fall

The Casual Classic // Life & Style Blog

Vince Sweater (similar here and here) // Rag & Bone Boyfriend Shorts (similar here) // J.Crew Pendant // Joie Sandals

The perfect outfit for that transitioning cool weather - even pair it with some booties instead of sandals and you're set! These shorts have been worn on repeat all summer, and I'm not quite ready to put them into storage yet...
