Now that Labor Day is over, the rule is, you are no longer supposed to wear white. Well I don't follow the rules (and I think that one is a bunch of crap anyway). Still, if you are someone who is tentative to wear white after Labor Day, I've hunted down some great transitional white(ish) items to take you through Fall, and even to the Winter. Don't worry, no one will call you out for wearing any of these. The only comments you'll be getting are "I love that!" and "where did you get that?!". Trust me.

The key to wearing white after labor day without looking too summery is to layer, or to wear an off white such as a winter white. Throw on a white silk dress with a brown leather jacket. Put a white blouse or tank under a deep colored blazer. Wear some off white jeans or khakis with a big chunky sweater. Tuck a white button up into a wool skirt. Pair an off-white skirt with a black blouse and heels. And last, one of the easiest ways to wear white is to pick a piece with some extra texture, or colored accents, like the black and white lace J.Crew blouse below (isn't it gorgeous!?).
