Dreams. I've been thinking a lot about them lately. What do I want? Where do I want to be in 5 years? 10 years? I'm not sure why these questions have all of a sudden been bugging me so much more than usual. Maybe it my quarter life crisis hitting me. I've been feeling a little out of it lately, kind of like I'm in this constant, unchanging and unexciting cycle: sleep, eat, work, exercise, eat, sleep, repeat. It's starting to get old, and I'm itching for a change. I've been told that your 20's are the most difficult years. They are your transition years where so many different things are happening in your career, personal life, relationships, and even your identity. Your 20's are a time of trying to figure out what you want, and then how you can get there. But where and how do you start?
There are so many questions, with not enough answers, and I'm the type of girl who likes answers. The unknown tends to scare me... especially when it has to do with my future. Then again, no one can predict their future (read this). Your future is what you make of it. I don't believe in the saying "good things happen to those who wait"... I believe in going out and getting what you want. Bottom line? Chase your dreams. Go after what you want and never give up (this, this, and this quote are a few of my favorites if you're looking for a little inspiration).
You're going to run into road blocks along the way. Failure happens to anyone and everyone. You can't go through life without it happening. But... failure seldom stops you. What stops you is the fear of failure. I know, enough of the preaching, but this is more for me than anyone who will read this. I've been through a lot this past month - a lot of changes, both good and bad, but the bad and the hard parts of life are what make you stronger. Everyone has highs and lows, but when you're in your lowest, you just need to remember that you will get through it.
So, If you've been feeling a little like I have been lately, I highly suggest reading this book. Also, visiting my inspiration board always helps to motivate me.
