Style File: The Espadrille

Another trend I am absolutely loving this season is the espadrille. Yes, they're nothing new, but the variety of different fabrics, prints, and styles I'm seeing this year - everywhere from leather, to lace, to stripes or floral prints - makes me want them all! I can't get enough of all the cute styles. I'm especially loving the leather versions. Ever since I saw the Chanel leather espadrilles last summer, I've been dying for a pair. Rag & Bone came out with a gorgeous more affordable version which are at the top of my list right now (they're are pictured above). Next on my list are the Tory canvas version. I love the cream/white combo - it goes with just about everything, especially white jeans or shorts. One of my favorite looks. The great thing about espadrilles is that they are so incredibly comfortable. The soft fabric and the shape of them is much more forgiving on your feet than a pair of pointy flats.. makes me want to wear them all summer long.

A Favorite Flat

Sam Edelman Felicia Flat

The perfect flat: something we all search for, but very rarely find. We all have that pair that just rubs the wrong way, leaves blisters on heels and toes, or is just plain uncomfortable to walk in for long distances. Well the search is over.: enter the Sam Edelman Felicia Flat. I'm no flats expert, but at 5'8, I wear them almost on a daily basis. I love heels, but those are usually reserved for after hours (and blog posts). I've tried numerous flats, some of my favorites being Tory Burch, Steve Madden, Vince Camuto, and even Target, and yet all of those don't do it for me for long distance wear. Every single pair of flats I have just rub me the wrong way (no pun intended), except for the Sam Edelman Felicia flat. I've had my pair for over a year and they are still in wonderful condition, and comfortable!

These flats have amazing cushion in the sole - with extra padding in the heel area. They have a little bit of elastic in the back so that they fit perfectly to your heel without digging in. They also come in pretty much every and any color, as well as any material, including leather, suede, calf hair, metallic, reptile print, and more. Plus, the bow on the toe is just too cute. I personally own the neutral colors (and a pair of reptile print which I'm obsessed with), but this leopard pair is next on my list.

If you're in the market for a new pair of ballet flats, and don't love the Edelman's, I would definitely try out Yosi Samra too - I've heard their flats are amazing.
